Growth & Change Services

Bio

Co-Founder, Heidi Henderson-Lewis, MA, MFT, is a Wife, Mother, Mentor, Strategic Life Coach and therapist by trade. She founded Season of Life (SOL) – Growth and Change Services, out of a deep conviction and need.  She felt that people needed change and wellness opportunities that are *professional* yet also practical and informal enough for anyone to feel comfortable reaching out and going through the process- especially those who have never gone through a change process.

Heidi is transparent and authentic.

Her clients say they feel understood and accepted without judgment. She often says: “We all go through a season of life where we could use a little extra help getting to the next level – including *me* no one is exempt – not even me”. Her Real Talk and solution focus is what clients appreciate most.

Mrs. Henderson-Lewis has work in the helping profession for 18+ years at the individual, family, neighborhood, community, city, county and state level.  Heidi has a work history, academic background and personal life experiences that is needed to relate with all types of people from all different circumstances, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. She grew up in the inner city of Seattle, overcame the scars of domestic violence, conquered the struggles of a single teenage mom, understands the challenges of a blended family system, etc.

She received her undergraduate degree (B.A.) from Seattle Pacific University in Sociology and a graduate degree (M.A.) from Pacific Lutheran University in Marriage and Family Therapy (which includes the study of systems theories). She obtained three college degrees while building her married life with her husband Terrence Lewis Sr. and a beautifully blended family of six children.

In addition to being the Founder of Season Of Life (SOL) Growth & Change Services, Heidi is also an Executive Director of a successful youth organization, trained in Social Justice Mediation, has a background as an ombudsman and provides a variety of trainings for not only individuals, couples and groups but also for organizations, schools, and youth on a variety of topics.  Heidi has also committed herself to many initiatives that give back to her community such as, The Black Marriage Movement (Founder), SOUL Interventions a Ministry for Marriages in Crisis (Founder). Co-Founder, Terrence Lewis, Sr. is a husband, father, son, friend, mentor, and personal growth trainer. Coming from a divorced home without the love of his Bio Father, he escaped the life of the streets and the cycle of domestic violence. Terrence has climbed his way into the fullness of “true” Manhood through hard work and perseverance. He states that his most rewarding accomplishment is beating the black male stereotype and becoming an educated and productive citizen who gives back to his community while carrying out the responsibilities of a present and dependable husband and father.

To gain a well-rounded background, for his helping profession, Terrence strategically educated himself in a variety of ways- from the college campus to workshops and training throughout the country. He has been trained in The Genesis Process curriculum, a relapse prevention model for addictive and compulsive behavior; Family Wellness: a guide to building stronger communities by strengthening families; Reclaiming Black Manhood: a guide to healing, growth and personal power; and is in his final stages of becoming a licensed chemical dependency professional.  In addition, Terrence is a graduate of the Intensive, nationally known, DeVos Urban Leadership Development Program.

Because of his education and life experience, Terrence Lewis Sr. has been described as a committed man to his family, man, faith, and community; one who has the ability to authentically connect and help in a practical and meaningful way. Men of all ages and backgrounds seek out his support in their journey to regain control over life hardships and circumstances.

Terrence has humbly received many awards from the community for his commitment to fatherhood, for his role as a father and his work in the community. He is most proud of his award as a “Black King” for one who “models black fatherhood to all” from the Annual Black Fathers Appreciation Dinner in Seattle, WA. He also values his award for “one who displays the character, wisdom and passion of Dr, King”-In His Image-Martin Luther King Jr. Award”.

“I could have never earned the right to be honored and awarded if I didn’t first learn the right” -Terrence.

Terrence Lewis Sr. is involved with many boards and committees throughout the community and currently serves at the Matt Talbot New Hope and Recovery Treatment Center as operations director and Community Advocate for Chemical Dependency.
