THE BLACK MARRIAGE MOVEMENT:

Season of Life supports all marriages however we have decided to launch a special initiative that focuses on *Black Marriages between 1 man and 1 woman in an effort to address the broken family dynamic/divorce rates that impacts the black child. While we understand that all marriages face high divorce rates the access to culturally sensitive and/or specific cultural responsive resources for black married couples is lacking. In addition to our experience and research, we have found that there are cultural values and norms that stigmatize marriage enrichment and/or therapeutic services for the betterment of black marriages. It is our goal to reduce the stigma and increase the access to resources that are relevant to the black couple in hope that marital satisfaction increases and divorce decreases.

*When referencing African American/Black Marriages we are including marriages where at least one spouse identifies as African American or Black.
